Short explanation
A URI redirection weakness exists in the authentication component of the Atlas SQL JDBC Driver (S0). During an interactive sign-in flow, the driver accepts endpoint addresses supplied by remote endpoints without scheme validation and passes them to the local default protocol handler (S0). An unauthenticated remote party may cause an address of its choosing to be opened on the user's system (S0).
This vulnerability allows attackers to leverage user interaction to open arbitrary addresses via the local operating system protocol handler, resulting in a low impact on integrity (S0).
What should be done?
- Follow official vendor advisories (S0)
- Review MongoDB changelogs and tracker entries (S0)
Chain of evidence and sources
Atlas SQL JDBC Driver kimlik doğrulama bileşeninde URI yönlendirme zafiyeti bulunmaktadır.
Sürücü, şema doğrulaması yapmadan uç nokta adreslerini yerel protokol işleyicisine aktarır.

A URI redirection weakness exists in the authentication component of the Atlas SQL JDBC Driver. During an interactive sign-in flow the driver accepts endpoint addresses supplied by the remote endpoint it is pointed at without validating their scheme, and passes the resulting address to the local default protocol handler. An unauthenticated remote party that controls the endpoint a user elects to connect to may cause an address of its choosing to be opened on the user's system; user interaction is required.
