Short explanation

A flaw in the connection management layer of the MongoDB Node.js driver can cause connection pool desynchronization after an operation timeout, potentially exposing other users' data (S0).

Why does it matter?

An unauthenticated party can cause database replies to be paired with the wrong requests in applications with an optional client-side operation timeout, leading to data disclosure and incorrect results (S0).

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories and guidance (S0).
  • Check for updates covering the affected version ranges (S1).
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw in the connection management layer of the MongoDB Node.js driver can leave a pooled network connection in the pool for reuse while data from an earlier operation is still outstanding on it. In applications that enable an optional client-side operation timeout, an unauthenticated party that can send ordinary requests to the application may cause database replies to be paired with the wrong requests. This may result in unintended disclosure of other users' records, incorrect operation results being returned, and failures of legitimate requests.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
