Short explanation
A vulnerability in AIOHTTP prior to version 3.14.4 allows cookies from an untrusted subdomain to remove the Host-Only scope from existing parent-domain cookies.
Users accessing an untrusted subdomain can have host-only protections stripped from cookies. However, the impact is limited when applications do not reflect those cookies to a browser.
What should be done?
- Upgrade aiohttp to version 3.14.4 or higher
- Follow vendor security advisories and patches
- Review cookie reflection mechanisms
Chain of evidence and sources
3.14.4 öncesi aiohttp sürümlerinde, alt alan adından gelen çerezler mevcut ana alan adı çerezlerindeki Host-Only kapsamını kaldırabilir.
Bu güvenlik açığı aiohttp sürüm 3.14.4 ile giderilmiştir.
Show the technical text from the sources
AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Prior to 3.14.4, Host-Only scope on an existing parent-domain cookie can be removed by a subdomain. A user who accesses an untrusted subdomain can consequently have host-only protections stripped from cookies, although impact is limited when applications do not reflect those cookies to a browser. This issue is fixed in version 3.14.4.
