Short explanation
CVE-2026-111064 is a denial of service vulnerability in aiohttp where keepalive timeout handling is absent during the initial portion of a request. Attackers can keep idle connections open indefinitely to consume server capacity. This issue is resolved in version 3.14.4.
This vulnerability allows attackers to deplete server resources and disrupt the availability of aiohttp-based services. Deploying a properly configured reverse proxy provides an alternative mitigation.
What should be done?
- Upgrade aiohttp to version 3.14.4 or higher
- Use a reverse proxy with sensible keepalive limits
Chain of evidence and sources
Show the technical text from the sources
AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Prior to 3.14.4, keepalive timeout handling is absent during the initial portion of a request. An attacker can keep an idle connection open indefinitely before sending any request data, consuming server connection capacity. This issue is fixed in version 3.14.4.
