Short explanation
In Goobi viewer prior to version 26.05, the password reset token is predictably generated based on the reset request time. An attacker knowing the target email address can brute-force the token and force an unauthorized password reset.
This vulnerability allows unauthorized access and password resets on user accounts by bypassing standard authentication token controls.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor security advisories
- Apply updates or upgrade to version 26.05
