Short explanation
Psono Server CE and EE versions 0.1.0 through 7.2.3 accept a user-controlled host when configuring a personal Duo device, leading to server-side request forgery (SSRF) without an allowlist or explicit timeout.
An authenticated remote attacker can abuse this flaw as an internal DNS and service-reachability oracle. Unresponsive targets can also occupy server workers until the operating system timeout occurs.
What should be done?
- Update Psono Server to a secure version
- Apply the vendor advisory and patch references provided
- Verify personal Duo device configuration inputs
Chain of evidence and sources
Psono Server CE ve EE 0.1.0 ile 7.2.3 sürümleri, kullanıcı kontrollü Duo ana bilgisayar girdilerini izin listesi olmadan kabul eder.
Kimliği doğrulanmış bir saldırgan, HTTPS port 443 üzerinden bağlantı kurarak servis erişilebilirliği kehaneti oluşturabilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
Psono Server CE && EE versions 0.1.0 through 7.2.3 accepted a user-controlled host when configuring a personal Duo device and passed it to the Duo client without an allowlist or explicit timeout. An authenticated remote attacker could cause the server to connect to selected hosts over HTTPS on port 443 and distinguish failure modes, providing an internal DNS and service-reachability oracle. Connections still required TLS certificate validation, and the flaw did not provide arbitrary protocol or port access. Unresponsive targets could also occupy a server worker until the operating-system timeout.
