Short explanation
In Psono Server CE and EE versions 4.0.33‑7.2.3, when URL_PREFIX is enabled, the bulk‑secret‑read endpoint path is compared against a hard‑coded unprefixed path. This allows an API key with write‑only permission to retrieve encrypted secret data without read permission.
Unauthorized disclosure of encrypted secrets and nonces poses a serious confidentiality and integrity risk.
What should be done?
- Upgrade to version 7.2.4 or later
- Review or disable URL_PREFIX configuration
- Re‑evaluate and rotate API key scopes
- Regenerate affected secrets and keys
- Monitor for suspicious API activity
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources
CVE‑2026‑117472, URL_PREFIX yapılandırması etkin olduğunda, yalnızca yazma izni olan bir API anahtarıyla okuma izni atlatmasına izin verir (S0, S1).
açık için iki doğrulanmış yama mevcuttur; 7.2.4 sürümüne yükseltmek sorunu çözer (S0, S1).
Show the technical text from the sources
Psono Server CE && EE versions 4.0.33 through 7.2.3 compared the request path for the bulk-secret-read endpoint with a hard-coded unprefixed path. In deployments configured with URL_PREFIX, the comparison failed and the POST request was authorized using write scope instead of read scope. An authenticated remote attacker with an unusual read-disabled, write-enabled API key could therefore retrieve encrypted secret data and nonces through the prefixed bulk-secret-read endpoint despite lacking read permission. The default configuration without URL_PREFIX was not affected.
