Short explanation

Eclipse Foundation NetX Duo is affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability during TLS 1.3 client processing of a HelloRetryRequest. The client copies the server cookie into the outgoing packet without checking its size.

Why does it matter?

This critical vulnerability allows a malicious or compromised server to overwrite memory past the TLS packet buffer, jeopardizing confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

What should be done?

  • Follow the official vendor advisory
  • Update affected versions
  • Review related security advisories
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

Eclipse Foundation NetX Duo, TLS 1.3 istemcisinin HelloRetryRequest işlemesi sırasında sınır dışı yazma zafiyetine açıktır.

Yazma işlemi sertifika doğrulaması tamamlanmadan gerçekleştiği için kötü amaçlı bir sunucu bellek üzerine yazabilir.

Zafiyet yalnızca istemci yolunu etkilemektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

When a TLS 1.3 client processes a HelloRetryRequest, it copies the server's cookie into its second ClientHello without checking that the cookie fits in the outgoing packet. Both the length and the contents of that cookie come from the peer, and the write happens before certificate authentication completes, so a malicious or compromised server can overwrite memory past the caller supplied TLS packet buffer without presenting a certificate. Only the client path is affected.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
