Short explanation

An authentication bypass vulnerability in Zimbra Collaboration Suite allows unauthenticated email senders to insert calendar invitations. ZCS versions 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 are affected.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows attackers to insert unauthorized meeting details into a recipient's calendar using a forged organizer identity, compromising identity integrity.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories
  • Check Zimbra security advisory pages for updates
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Zimbra Collaboration Suite bileşenindeki bir organizatör kimlik doğrulama zafiyeti, kimliği doğrulanmamış bir e-posta göndereninin başka bir kullanıcıya atfedilen takvim davetleri eklemesine izin verir.

ZCS 10.1.16 ve 10.1.21 sürümleri bu zafiyetten etkilenmektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

An organizer authentication vulnerability in Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows an unauthenticated email sender to insert calendar invitations attributed to another user. The email delivery path permits external invitations but does not verify that the message sender is authorized to use the iCalendar ORGANIZER identity. When automatic invitation insertion is enabled, a crafted REQUEST component creates an event containing attacker-selected meeting details and reminders under a forged organizer without recipient interaction. No corresponding event is created in the claimed organizer's calendar. ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 are affected.
