Short explanation

A missing authorization vulnerability in Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows a delegated administrator with no explicit administrative grants to overwrite global Zimlet configuration through ConfigureZimletRequest [S0]. ZCS versions 10.1.16 and 10.1.20 are affected [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability permits attackers to read mailbox data, execute authenticated actions as the victim, and run custom JavaScript under the Zimbra origin, resulting in a breakdown of security boundaries [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory [S0]
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

ZCS 10.1.16 ve 10.1.20 sürümleri bu güvenlik açığından etkilenmektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

A missing authorization vulnerability in Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows a delegated administrator with no explicit administrative grants to overwrite global Zimlet configuration through ConfigureZimletRequest. The uploaded configuration can also add an attacker-controlled domain to the proxy allowlist of the default class of service. If a signed-in user in that class opens a crafted /service/proxy URL, Zimbra serves attacker-controlled HTML under its own origin. The resulting JavaScript can read mailbox data and perform authenticated actions as the victim. Exploitation requires a delegated-administrator account and access to the admin SOAP service; the browser compromise additionally requires the victim to open the crafted URL. ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.20 are affected.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
