CVE-2026-92155: F´ Svc::FileUplink Component DoS Vulnerability

Short explanation

A vulnerability in the F´ (F Prime) framework stems from a lack of range validation during Fw::FilePacket deserialization used by Svc::FileUplink. Network file packets containing an unknown file-packet type byte trigger a default assertion (FW_ASSERT), resulting in a denial of service (DoS) [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows network-based attacks without requiring authentication to crash or reset target applications, posing a risk to service availability [S0].

What should be done?

  • Update the Fw::FilePacket deserialization logic
  • Follow the vendor advisory for guidance
  • Migrate to updated releases where applicable
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

F´ çerçevesindeki Svc::FileUplink bileşeni, bilinmeyen paket türü baytlarında varsayılan FW_ASSERT tetikleyerek hizmet reddine neden olur.

Bu zafiyet 4.2.0 sürümünden önceki fprime sürümlerini etkilemektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

F´ (F Prime) is a framework that enables development and deployment of spaceflight and other embedded software applications. Prior to 4.2.0, Fw::FilePacket deserialization used by Svc::FileUplink is vulnerable because Header deserialization casts the byte to the Type enum without validating its range and FilePacket::fromSerialBuffer reaches a default FW_ASSERT. When a network file packet contains an unknown file-packet type byte, the assertion aborts or resets the default Ref application process, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.

Public exploit and active exploitation status

Verified exploit intelligence

No verified public PoC, exploit repository or Metasploit module has been found for this CVE yet.
