Short explanation

In Lychee versions prior to 7.7.0, the GET /docs/api endpoint exposes OpenAPI documentation without authentication and lacks resource throttling. S0 S1

Why does it matter?

A remote attacker can repeatedly request this unauthenticated route to consume server CPU resources and obtain a detailed map of the API surface. S0 S1

What should be done?

  • Update to version 7.7.0 or a later release
  • Follow official vendor advisories
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

7.7.0 öncesi Lychee sürümlerinde GET /docs/api uç noktası kimlik doğrulaması olmadan Scramble OpenAPI belgelerini açığa çıkarır.

Saldırganlar bu kısıtlanmamış rotaya art arda istek göndererek sunucu CPU kaynaklarını tüketebilir.

Bu güvenlik açığı 7.7.0 sürümünde giderilmiştir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Lychee is a free, open-source photo-management tool. Prior to 7.7.0, GET /docs/api exposes the Scramble-generated OpenAPI documentation configured by config/scramble.php to unauthenticated callers after installation, with observed response size and latency suggesting that the schema is regenerated without an application-level cache. A remote attacker can repeatedly request the unthrottled route to consume server CPU and obtain a detailed map of the API surface and parameter schema. This issue is fixed in version 7.7.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
