Short explanation

Prior to version 3.28.3, traQ instances configured with local storage can return user-uploaded SVG or HTML content from the file retrieval endpoint for direct browser rendering, leading to XSS.

Why does it matter?

It allows an attacker with file-upload capability to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser, posing risks to confidentiality and integrity.

What should be done?

  • Update traQ to version 3.28.3 or later
  • Follow the official vendor advisory
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

traQ 3.28.3 öncesi sürümlerde yerel depolama yapılandırmaları dosya uç noktasından doğrudan tarayıcıda işlenebilen içerik döndürebilmektedir.

Bu zafiyet, kurbanın tarayıcısında saldırgan kontrolündeki JavaScript kodunun çalıştırılmasına yol açabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

traQ is a messenger application built for Digital Creators Club traP. Prior to 3.28.3, instances configured with TRAQ_STORAGE_TYPE=local can return user-uploaded SVG or HTML content from the /files/{fileId} retrieval endpoint for direct browser rendering. An attacker with file-upload capability can provide crafted active content and induce another user to open its file URL, causing attacker-controlled JavaScript to execute in the victim's browser. This issue is fixed in version 3.28.3.
