Short explanation

traQ versions contain a privilege escalation vulnerability where OAuth2 silent authorization requests using prompt=none allow obtaining broader access tokens without additional user consent.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows attackers to acquire broader client scopes that users have never explicitly consented to, compromising confidentiality and data integrity.

What should be done?

  • Update to version 3.28.3 or later
  • Follow vendor advisories
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

traQ is a messenger application built for Digital Creators Club traP. Prior to 3.28.3, OAuth2 silent authorization requests using prompt=none with an empty or omitted scope parameter check prior consent against the empty requested scope set even though all scopes registered for the client become eligible for issuance. An attacker who controls an OAuth client capable of receiving authorization codes can target a user who previously consented to only some client scopes and obtain an access token containing broader registered scopes without additional consent. A user who has never consented to the client still receives consent_required. This issue is fixed in version 3.28.3.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
