Short explanation

Frappe LMS prior to version 2.52.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that allows an authenticated user with a course editing role to inject malicious JavaScript through meta tag fields (S0).

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows an authorized user to store malicious content within the course management module, potentially impacting other users who view it (S0).

What should be done?

  • Update the software (S0)
  • Follow vendor advisories (S0)
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Frappe LMS 2.52.0 öncesi sürümlerde saklı XSS zafiyeti bulunmaktadır.

Kurs düzenleme rolüne sahip kullanıcılar meta etiket alanları üzerinden zararlı JavaScript enjekte edebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Frappe Learning Management System (LMS) is a learning system that helps users structure their content. Prior to version 2.52.0, an authenticated user with a course editing role can inject malicious JavaScript through meta tag fields in the Course Management module. The values are stored without adequate HTML sanitization and are not safely escaped when rendered, allowing stored cross-site scripting. This issue is fixed in version 2.52.0.
