Short explanation

In Frappe LMS prior to version 2.52.1, the course and certificate checkout flow accepts client-controlled pricing. This allows an authenticated user to complete a paid-course or certificate purchase for an amount other than the actual price.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability compromises payment integrity, leading to business-logic integrity issues. Although it does not cause privilege escalation or data exposure, it allows financial manipulation.

What should be done?

  • Upgrading to version 2.52.1 or later
  • Implementing server-side price validation in checkout flows
  • Following vendor security advisories
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims
