Short explanation
FreeRDP versions before 3.32.2 contain a use-after-free vulnerability caused by a race condition between the RDPGFX ResetGraphics handler and the planar bitmap decoder.
Malicious RDP servers can exploit this vulnerability to corrupt client memory and access sensitive data.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories and updates
- Update affected versions accordingly
- Ensure connections are made to trusted RDP servers
Chain of evidence and sources
FreeRDP 3.32.2 öncesi sürümler, RDPGFX ResetGraphics işleyicisi ile düzlemsel bitmap kod çözücü arasındaki yarış durumu nedeniyle use-after-free zafiyeti içermektedir.
Saldırganlar, ResetGraphics komutu ile birlikte 32 bpp ve üzeri sıkıştırılmış bitmap'ler göndererek paylaşılan arabelleklerde bellek bozulmasına neden olabilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
FreeRDP before 3.32.2 contains a use-after-free vulnerability that allows malicious RDP servers to corrupt client memory by racing the RDPGFX ResetGraphics handler against the planar bitmap decoder. Attackers can send ResetGraphics while concurrently sending compressed bitmaps of 32 bpp or more to trigger heap use-after-free or out-of-bounds read/write on shared planar buffers.
