Short explanation
FreeRDP through version 3.32.1 contains a heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the RDPGFX client [S0]. This is caused by the delete_surface callback truncating surface hash keys to 16 bits [S0].
A malicious or man-in-the-middle RDP server can exploit this flaw to trigger severe impacts [S0]. The patch status remains unconfirmed in the reviewed sources [S0].
What should be done?
- Monitor official vendor advisories [S0].
- Apply FreeRDP updates when fixes become available [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources
FreeRDP sürüm 3.32.1 ve öncesi, RDPGFX istemcisinde bellek sınırları dışına yazma zafiyeti içermektedir.
Zafiyet, delete_surface geri çağırımının yüzey hash anahtarlarını 16 bite kısaltması nedeniyle yüzey tablosunun tutarsız kalmasından kaynaklanır.
Show the technical text from the sources
FreeRDP through 3.32.1 has a heap out-of-bounds write in the RDPGFX client because the delete_surface callback truncates surface hash keys to 16 bits, leaving the surface table inconsistent so HashTable_GetKeys writes past its allocated key array. A malicious or man-in-the-middle RDP server can exploit this by creating surfaceId 0xFFFF, closing the RDPGFX channel, sending repeated DELETESURFACE PDUs, and then sending ENDFRAME or RESETGRAPHICS.
