Short explanation

Out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities in pybddisasm Python bindings may disclose adjacent process memory during instruction decoding. S0

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability can lead to the exposure of sensitive process memory to attackers. S0

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories for updates S0
  • Note that the package is no longer maintained S0

Zafiyet, nd_decode fonksiyonunun arabellek uzunluğunu kontrol etmemesinden kaynaklanır. S0 S1

Show the technical text from the sources

Out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities in the pybddisasm Python bindings may disclose adjacent process memory during instruction decoding. The nd_decode function may read up to 15 bytes without checking the actual length of the supplied Python buffer. The nd_decode_ex, nd_decode_ex2, and nd_decode_with_context functions pass the caller-supplied buffer size to the decoder without validating it against the actual length of the Python buffer. Data read beyond the buffer may be exposed through nd_get_instrux_bytes, which returns a fixed-length list of 16 bytes. Exploitation requires an application to invoke the affected APIs with a short buffer or an oversized length and to expose the resulting bytes to an attacker. The pybddisasm package is no longer maintained.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
