Short explanation

A data-query-logic neutralization weakness in the MongoDB C# Driver update-statement construction component allows application-supplied values to be interpreted as query logic, impacting data integrity.

Why does it matter?

Users with ordinary read-write application access can cause stored data to be modified or removed in unintended ways.

What should be done?

  • Review vendor advisory instructions
  • Follow applicable update procedures

Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Show the technical text from the sources

A data-query-logic neutralization weakness in the update-statement construction component of the MongoDB C# Driver can cause application-supplied values to be interpreted as query/update logic rather than as literal data. An application user who can influence the content of values that the application passes into the affected builder surface, without any special privilege beyond ordinary read-write application access, may cause stored data to be modified or removed in ways the application never intended. The result is unauthorized integrity impact on the affected application data; there is no direct loss of confidentiality or availability of the database service.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
