Short explanation

In @modelcontextprotocol/sdk versions 1.24.0 through 1.31.0, the experimental tasks feature does not validate the session that created a task, allowing clients to list, read, and cancel each other's tasks.

Why does it matter?

HTTP servers utilizing a shared in-memory task store allow clients to access or modify sensitive task data belonging to other sessions.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade @modelcontextprotocol/sdk to version 1.32.0 or later
  • Remove the taskStore if upgrading is not immediately possible
  • Create one InMemoryTaskStore per session
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

@modelcontextprotocol/sdk paketinin 1.24.0 ila 1.31.0 sürümleri arasındaki deneysel görevler özelliği oturum doğrulaması yapmamaktadır.

Sorun 1.32.0 veya sonraki sürümlere yükseltilerek çözülebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

MCP TypeScript SDK is the official TypeScript SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. From version 1.24.0 to before version 1.32.0, the experimental tasks feature (taskStore) did not check which session created a task. Clients sharing one InMemoryTaskStore could list, read and cancel each other's tasks. This issue has been patched in version 1.32.0.
