Short explanation
CVE-2026-111228 is a CRLF injection in pfSense CE 2.7.1‑2.9.0 that lets authenticated users with DNS Resolver: Advanced rights inject Unbound directives via the sock_queue_timeout parameter, altering DNS configuration for all clients.
Manipulating DNS can redirect traffic, facilitate phishing or data exfiltration.
What should be done?
- Apply vendor advisory when a fix is released
- Restrict pfSense web UI access to trusted administrators
- Validate or sanitize the sock_queue_timeout input
- Monitor DNS configuration and logs for unauthorized changes

Chain of evidence and sources
Bu güvenlik açığı, services_unbound_advanced.php dosyasındaki CRLF istismarıdır; DNS Resolver: Advanced yetkisine sahip kimliği doğrulanmış kullanıcılar, unbound.conf dosyasına istedikleri Unbound talimatlarını enjekte edebilir.
İstismarı, tüm istemciler için DNS kayıtlarını ve yönlendirmeyi değiştirebilir, böylece trafiğin yönlendirilmesine olanak tanır.
CISA KEV programında aktif istismar rapor edilmemiştir.
Resmi yama durumu bilinmiyor; doğrulanmış bir düzeltme yayınlanmamıştır.
