Short explanation

An authentication bypass in Finsys dockhand before version 1.0.45 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to reset passwords and compromise accounts by exploiting paths ending in static-asset extensions.

Why does it matter?

This critical vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to take over administrator accounts and gain full control over affected systems.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor security advisories and updates provided by Finsys.
  • Update to version 1.0.45 or later if available.

Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Finsys dockhand 1.0.45 öncesi sürümler statik varlık kontrolü üzerinden kimlik doğrulama atlatma açığı barındırır.

Kimlik doğrulanmamış saldırganlar PUT isteği göndererek yönetici veya kullanıcı şifrelerini sıfırlayabilir ve hesabı ele geçirebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Dockhand before 1.0.45 contains an authentication bypass in which the global auth hook skips authentication for any path ending in a static-asset extension such as .js, including /api/* routes, and the user-mutation handlers fail open for unauthenticated callers. Unauthenticated remote attackers can send a PUT request to /api/users/<id>.js to reset the admin's or any user's password and take over the account.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
