Short explanation
An off-by-one bounds vulnerability has been identified in the btintel_pcie driver of the Linux kernel's Bluetooth subsystem. The issue arises from an improperly configured index check within the relevant function, creating an out-of-range access risk.
Such index errors at the kernel level can impact system stability and compromise memory integrity.
What should be done?
- Follow the relevant vendor advisories and updates
- Apply the corresponding patch fixes in the kernel source code
Chain of evidence and sources
Show the technical text from the sources
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: fix tx_handle bounds off-by-one Valid indices into txq->urbd0s/tfds/bufs are 0..txq->count-1, so tfd_index == txq->count is already out of range. Change the guard in btintel_pcie_msix_tx_handle() from '> txq->count' to '>= txq->count'. This issue was reported by Claude Mythos.
