Short explanation

The NEX-Forms plugin is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Content-Type header and type parameter, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts.

Why does it matter?

This security flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to embed malicious scripts into affected pages, which execute whenever a user accesses the injected page.

What should be done?

  • Monitor official advisories for patch availability and updates
  • Follow vendor recommendations to update the plugin
  • Review input validation mechanisms
Note on uncertainty

The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

The NEX-Forms – Ultimate Forms Plugin for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'type' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 9.3.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
