Short explanation
The Eclipse ThreadX - GUIX software JPEG decoder suffers from issues where truncated segments are read past the image buffer and a zero sampling factor hangs the decode loop.
This flaw can lead to information disclosure and denial of service under local or user interaction scenarios.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories
- Review Eclipse ThreadX - GUIX versions
Chain of evidence and sources
GUIX yazılımı JPEG kod çözücüsü, işaretçi kesimlerini uzunluk kontrolü yapmadan okur.
Sıfır kroma örnekleme faktörü, blok kod çözme döngüsünün sonlanmamasına neden olur.
Show the technical text from the sources
The GUIX software JPEG decoder reads four kinds of marker segment without checking that each is long enough to hold what it reads. A truncated segment is therefore read past the end of the caller's image buffer. Separately, a zero chroma sampling factor makes the block decode loop non-terminating. Both reproduce in the default configuration, in which `GX_SOFTWARE_DECODER_SUPPORT` is enabled.
