Short explanation
In Part-DB versions prior to 2.13.2, authenticated API users can bypass the configured maximum attachment size by uploading base64‑encoded files through the API, potentially exhausting disk space and causing denial of service.
Exhausting disk space can render the system unusable and lead to service interruptions.
What should be done?
- Upgrade to version 2.13.2 per vendor advisory (S0, S1)
- Enforce attachment size checks on the API
- Monitor disk usage
- Note that patch status is UNKNOWN (S0)
Chain of evidence and sources
CVE-2026-86019, kimliği doğrulanmış API kullanıcılarının base64 yüklemesiyle ek boyut sınırını atlatmasına izin verir (S0, S1).
Açık, 2.13.2 sürümünde vendor tarafından düzeltilmiştir (S0, S1).
CVE, CISA KEV listesinde yer almıyor ve aktif istismar raporlanmamıştır (S0).
Resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadığından yama durumu UNKNOWN olarak değerlendirilmiştir (S0).
Show the technical text from the sources
Part-DB is an open source inventory management system for electronic components. Prior to version 2.13.2, Part-DB allows authenticated API users to bypass the configured maximum attachment file size by uploading attachments through the API using base64-encoded file data. The application enforces the configured attachment size limit for normal browser-based file uploads, but the API base64 upload path does not apply the same size validation. As a result, an authenticated user with API access and permission to create attachments can upload files larger than the configured maximum attachment size, potentially exhausting disk space and causing a denial of service. This issue has been patched in version 2.13.2.
