Short explanation

A vulnerability in the OpenSearch SQL plugin allows a remote authenticated user to trigger unsafe deserialization of untrusted data via a crafted cursor parameter, resulting in arbitrary code execution on the server.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows authenticated users with basic read and search permissions to achieve arbitrary code execution on the server, posing a high risk to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories
  • Apply available repository releases and fixes
  • Verify system version ranges
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

CVE-2026-63393, OpenSearch SQL eklentisindeki güvensiz seri durumdan çıkarma nedeniyle sunucuda kod çalıştırılmasına izin verir.

Etkilenen sürümler 2.x serisinde 2.8.0.0 ile 2.19.6.0 arası ve 3.x serisinde 3.7.0.0 öncesidir.

Show the technical text from the sources

OpenSearch SQL supports querying OpenSearch data using SQL and Piped Processing Language. In the 2.x line from 2.8.0.0 until 2.19.6.0, and the 3.x line prior to 3.7.0.0, a remote authenticated user with basic read/search permissions can provide a crafted `cursor` parameter to the `plugins/sql` endpoint and trigger unsafe deserialization of untrusted data, resulting in arbitrary code execution on the server. This issue is fixed in repository releases 2.19.6.0 and 3.7.0.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
