Short explanation

GRR prior to version 4.5.0 contains a Reflected XSS vulnerability where maj.php reflects the forcemaj parameter without adequate escaping when installation files remain accessible.

Why does it matter?

The vulnerability enables session hijacking, cookie theft, phishing, and redirection because the authentication cookie is not HttpOnly.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory
  • Remove accessible installation files
  • Update GRR
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

GRR ürününün 4.5.0 öncesi sürümlerinde maj.php forcemaj parametresini yetersiz kaçış ile yansıtmaktadır.

Kimlik doğrulama çerezi HttpOnly olmadığı için zafiyet oturum ele geçirmeye yol açabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

GRR is a resource management and reservation application. Prior to version 4.5.0, `maj.php` reflects the `forcemaj` parameter without adequate escaping when installation files remain accessible. Removal of these files is not automatic. An attacker can craft a URL that executes arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser when the victim accesses it. This reflected cross-site scripting can enable phishing, redirection to malicious sites, cookie theft and session hijacking because the authentication cookie is not `HttpOnly`. This issue is fixed in version 4.5.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
