Short explanation
Memory safety bugs in the freebsd kqueue copy-on-fork implementation can lead to race conditions allowing unprivileged local users to escalate privileges.
This vulnerability can enable local users to leverage race conditions for privilege escalation and compromise system integrity.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor security advisories
- Review official sources for patches
Chain of evidence and sources
Kopyalama kodunun marker knotes öğelerini düzgün şekilde hariç tutmaması yarış durumlarına sebep olur.

Show the technical text from the sources
When copying knotes from a parent kqueue to a child, the copy code did not correctly exclude marker knotes (used internally to track list traversal position) before marking them as in-flux and releasing the kqueue lock. If another thread freed a marker while the lock was dropped, the subsequent in-flux decrement operated on freed memory. An unprivileged local user may be able to exploit these races to escalate privileges.
