Short explanation

Prior to version 0.7.7, a path traversal vulnerability in Entire CLI checkpoint session metadata allows arbitrary file write during session resume or checkpoint rewind.

Why does it matter?

Attackers with push access can craft malicious metadata that causes arbitrary file writes on the victim's machine.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory recommendations
  • Update affected installations
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Entire CLI 0.7.7 öncesi sürümlerde, checkpoints deposuna push erişimi olan saldırganlar zararlı meta veri oluşturabilir.

SessionID alanının doğrulama olmaksızın kullanılması, dizin atlama yoluyla rastgele dosya yazılmasına yol açar.

Show the technical text from the sources

Entire CLI hooks into Git workflows to capture AI agent sessions. Prior to version 0.7.7, a path traversal vulnerability in Entire CLI allows an attacker with push access to the checkpoints repository to craft malicious checkpoint metadata that causes entire session resume or entire checkpoint rewind to write attacker-controlled transcript data outside of the expected session directory. The issue occurs because checkpoint metadata is fetched from the remote entire/checkpoints/v1 branch and the SessionID field was used to construct filesystem paths without validation in the restore path. A malicious SessionID containing absolute paths or path traversal sequences could cause arbitrary files on the victim’s machine to be overwritten. This issue has been patched in version 0.7.7.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
