Short explanation
In InvoiceShelf prior to version 2.4.0, the PDFConfigurationRequest.php component validates the gotenberg_host setting only for syntactic validity. This leads to a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability because private or loopback IP addresses are not rejected.
This vulnerability allows an owner to reach internal services or cloud metadata endpoints and enables a configured external host to receive sensitive invoice data.
What should be done?
- Update to version 2.4.0 or later
- Follow vendor advisories and security updates
- Restrict gotenberg_host configurations to validated endpoints
Chain of evidence and sources
InvoiceShelf 2.4.0 öncesi sürümlerde gotenberg_host ayarı yalnızca sözdizimsel olarak doğrulanmaktadır.
GotenbergPDFDriver::loadView işlevi, özel veya geri döngü adreslerini reddetmeden multipart HTTP isteği gönderir.
Bu güvenlik açığı InvoiceShelf sürüm 2.4.0 ile giderilmiştir.
Show the technical text from the sources
InvoiceShelf is an open-source web & mobile app that helps track expenses, payments and create professional invoices and estimates. Prior to version 2.4.0, InvoiceShelf's PDFConfigurationRequest.php validates the owner-controlled gotenberg_host setting only as a syntactically valid URL. GotenbergPDFDriver::loadView later sends a multipart HTTP request containing rendered invoice, estimate, or payment HTML as document.html to that host without rejecting private, loopback, link-local, or reserved addresses. An owner can use PDF generation to reach internal services or cloud metadata endpoints, and a configured external host receives customer names, addresses, line items, totals, and company identifiers from subsequent PDF renders. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.0.
