Short explanation

Improper JWT token validation in Akamai Guardicore Platform Agent versions prior to 7.4 can lead to unauthorized reconfiguration and full compromise of application functionality [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability poses a critical risk because it allows attackers to manipulate authentication processes and compromise client software [S0].

What should be done?

  • Update the software to version 7.4 or later [S0].
  • Follow vendor security advisory documentation [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Akamai Guardicore Platform Agent 7.4 öncesi sürümler, tohumlama için kullanılan JWT token'larını yanlış doğrulamaktadır [S0].

Saldırganlar, sahte bir token kullanarak istemci yazılımına rastgele parametreler enjekte edebilir ve uygulamanın işlevselliğini tamamen ele geçirebilir [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

Akamai GPA (Guardicore Platform Agent) client on all platforms before 7.4 improperly validates JWT tokens used for seeding. By convincing a user to interact with a malicious link, an attacker can use a spoofed JWT token to inject arbitrary parameters into the client software, resulting in unauthorized reconfiguration and full compromise of the application's functionality. This attack can also be targeted against an already seeded client if the attacker knows the URL of the IDP that the client used for enrollment.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
