Short explanation

The CVE-2026-45144 vulnerability in Chamilo LMS allows attackers with student roles or anonymous capabilities to execute stored XSS through user profile fields. The flaw occurs because public profile pages render user-editable fields inside templates without server-side sanitization on the write path.

Why does it matter?

This security flaw permits malicious code execution in the browsers of any visitor, including administrators who follow public profile links. It creates an account takeover risk via session, JWT, or local storage exfiltration.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory
  • Apply updates where available
  • Ensure proper input sanitization
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Chamilo LMS 2.0.0 ve 2.0.1 sürümleri arasında GET /user/{username} uç noktası kullanıcı profili alanlarında saklı XSS zafiyeti barındırır.

Saklı içerik, yönetici dahil herhangi bir ziyaretçinin tarayıcısında çalışarak hesap ele geçirme potansiyeli oluşturur.

Show the technical text from the sources

Chamilo LMS is an open-source learning management system. From 2.0.0 until 2.0.1, `GET /user/{username}` is anonymously reachable and renders six user-editable profile fields (`firstname`, `lastname`, `competences`, `openarea`, `teach`, and `diplomas`) inside `{% autoescape false %}`, without server-side sanitization on the write path. A ROLE_STUDENT attacker can plant HTML in their own profile; self-registration, when enabled, lets an otherwise anonymous attacker obtain that role. The stored content executes in the browser of any visitor, including administrators, who follows the public profile link, potentially allowing account takeover through session, JWT, or `localStorage` exfiltration. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.1.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.

Public exploit and active exploitation status

Verified exploit intelligence

No verified public PoC, exploit repository or Metasploit module has been found for this CVE yet.
