Short explanation

Zebra before 7.0.0 contains an incomplete cleanup vulnerability allowing unauthenticated peers to stall initial sync by serving a forged checkpoint block body [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows attackers to stop nodes from requesting blocks, causing service disruption until a restart occurs [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory as the patch status is currently unknown [S0].
  • Update Zebra to version 7.0.0 or an unaffected release [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Zebra 7.0.0 öncesi sürümler, sahte kontrol noktası blok gövdesi ile servis dışı bırakma saldırılarına karşı savunmasızdır [S0].

Saldırganlar, reddedilen hash değerlerinin sette kalmasını sağlayarak düğümün blok istemesini engeller [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

Zebra before 7.0.0 contains an incomplete cleanup vulnerability that allows unauthenticated peers to stall initial sync by serving a forged checkpoint block body. Attackers can supply a body with forged authorizing data near the final checkpoint, leaving rejected hashes in the sent-hash set so the node stops requesting blocks until restart.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
