Short explanation

FluentCart A New Era of eCommerce plugin versions 1.6.2 and prior are vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation, allowing authenticated users to delete files from the server.

Why does it matter?

Authenticated attackers can delete critical system files, potentially leading to remote code execution and compromising the integrity of the targeted application.

What should be done?

  • Monitor vendor advisories and updates
  • Tighten plugin access privileges
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

FluentCart A New Era of eCommerce eklentisinin 1.6.2 ve önceki sürümleri dosya yolu doğrulama eksikliğinden etkilenmektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

The FluentCart A New Era of eCommerce – Faster, Lighter, and Simpler plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the deleteFile function in all versions up to, and including, 1.6.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with custom-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php).
