Short explanation
A SQL injection flaw affects WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce up to version 5.5.7. Authenticated attackers with Shop Manager‑level access can supply malicious exchange‑rate values that are concatenated into ORDER BY clauses, allowing data extraction. No confirmed patch exists, and the issue is not listed in the CISA KEV program.
The vulnerability enables confidential data leakage from WordPress sites that use the plugin, potentially compromising customer and business information.
What should be done?
- Monitor vendor advisories for a patch and apply it when released
- Restrict plugin usage to trusted administrators
- Deploy WAF rules to block suspicious SQL patterns in AJAX requests
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources
Shop Manager ve üzeri yetkiye sahip kimliği doğrulanmış kullanıcılar, save_currency() AJAX işleyicisindeki döviz kuru alanı üzerinden istismar edilebilir SQL kodu ekleyebilir.
Eklenen yük, ORDER BY ifadesine birleştirildiği için hassas veritabanı bilgilerinin ele geçirilmesini sağlar.
Resmi bir yama durumu doğrulanmadı; mevcut kaynaklara göre istismar hâlâ yamasızdır.
Show the technical text from the sources
The WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency with WPML plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection in all versions up to, and including, 5.5.7. This is due to insufficient input validation on the currency exchange rate parameter in the save_currency() AJAX handler, which lacks capability checks and allows subscriber-level users to store malicious SQL payloads that are later concatenated directly into ORDER BY clauses without proper sanitization. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Shop Manager-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries to extract sensitive information from the database.
