Short explanation
Versions of the Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce plugin up to and including 3.9 allow authenticated users with Shop Manager or higher privileges to inject SQL via the `tracking_provider` parameter in a POST request to the REST endpoint (CVE‑2026‑120558).
Sensitive data can be extracted and system integrity compromised.
What should be done?
- Apply vendor updates when released
- If no fixed version is available, tighten access controls for the current version
- Block malicious `tracking_provider` payloads with a WAF
- Remove unnecessary Shop Manager privileges
- Monitor logs for anomalous query activity
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources
CVE‑2026‑120558, Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce eklentisinin 3.9 ve öncesi sürümlerinde, `tracking_provider` parametresi üzerinden yetkili kullanıcıların SQL istismarı yapmasına olanak tanır.
Bu açık, veritabanından hassas bilgiler çalınmasına, veri bütünlüğünün bozulmasına ve hizmetin kesintiye uğramasına yol açabilir (C/H, I/H, A/H).
Resmî kaynaklarda bu güvenlik açığı için henüz bir yama doğrulanmadığı için yama durumu UNKNOWN olarak raporlanmıştır.
Show the technical text from the sources
The Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the `tracking_provider` parameter of the `POST /wp-json/wc-ast/v3/orders/<order_id>/shipment-trackings` REST endpoint in all versions up to, and including, 3.9. This is due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query in `WC_Advanced_Shipment_Tracking_Admin::get_provider_slug_from_name()` — the value is concatenated directly into the format string of `$wpdb->prepare()` rather than bound as a parameter, bypassing parameterised-query protections. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Shop Manager-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into the already-existing query that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
