Short explanation
In Greenshift versions up to 13.2.2, the comment_author_url parameter is not properly sanitized, leading to a stored DOM‑based XSS. An unauthenticated attacker can post a comment with a malicious URL, which the Interaction Layer copies into a Counter block’s data‑prefix/postfix attribute, causing the script to run when the page is viewed.
The malicious script can execute in visitors’ browsers, enabling session theft, redirects, or malware distribution.
What should be done?
- Upgrade Greenshift to a version newer than 13.2.2 when available
- Patch status is unknown; follow the vendor advisory for guidance
- Disable the Interaction Layer attach‑attribute action or sanitize comment_author_url inputs
- Monitor and clean suspicious comment URLs
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

The Greenshift – animation and page builder blocks plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'url (comment_author_url)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 13.2.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the affected page to be configured with a GreenShift Interaction Layer attach-attribute action that copies a comment-author anchor's href into a Counter block's data-prefix or data-postfix attribute; given that configuration, the payload executes for every visitor who loads the Counter into the viewport once the comment is published.
