Short explanation

An information disclosure vulnerability exists in Parse Server versions where fields reverted by a beforeSave trigger are returned in object update responses.

Why does it matter?

An authenticated client can read protected values even without read access to that specific object or field.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories
  • Review update status

Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Parse Server sürümlerinde, beforeSave tetikleyicisiyle geri alınan alanlar nesne güncelleme yanıtlarında döndürülmektedir.

Kimliği doğrulanmış istemciler, okuma izni olmasa bile korunan değerleri ve MFA authData verilerini okuyabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Parse Server before 8.6.107 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.5-alpha.8 returns the stored value of a field reverted by a beforeSave trigger in object update responses, even to clients without read access to that object or field. An authenticated client able to update an object whose beforeSave trigger reverts a field, via revert() or a constant: true validator, can read protected values, including its own account's raw MFA authData when protectedFieldsTriggerExempt is enabled.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
