Short explanation

An open redirect vulnerability exists in the Echo Go web framework because sanitizeURI checks only the first two bytes of a redirect target [S0].

Why does it matter?

This open redirect vulnerability allows attackers to redirect users to external and attacker-controlled locations [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories to apply necessary updates [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Echo Go web çerçevesinde sanitizeURI, yönlendirme hedefinin yalnızca ilk iki baytını kontrol eder [S0].

Söz konusu açık yönlendirme zafiyeti, Location başlığı üzerinden tarayıcı tarafından saldırgan kontrolündeki bir host değerine dönüştürülebilir [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

Echo is a Go web framework. Prior to 4.16.0 and 5.4.0, sanitizeURI checks only the first two bytes of a redirect target before deciding whether it begins with an absolute-path separator pair. When AddTrailingSlash or RemoveTrailingSlash is configured with a redirect status, a slash, TAB, separator path form can evade the guard, be emitted in the Location header, and be normalized by a browser into an attacker-controlled host. This issue is fixed in 4.16.0 and 5.4.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
