CVE-2026-117627: Keycloak-services JWT Authorization Grant Bypasses Identity Provider Login Restrictions

Short explanation

A vulnerability exists in the JWT Authorization Grant implementation of the keycloak-services component, allowing identity provider login restrictions to be bypassed. Restrictions that apply during standard browser logins are skipped during the JWT-based grant flow. This allows authenticated clients to obtain access tokens for users who should have been blocked by identity provider claims.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows identity provider policies and claim filtering mechanisms to be bypassed via JWT-based flows. It compromises authentication integrity by enabling authenticated clients to acquire access tokens on behalf of users who should otherwise be restricted.

What should be done?

  • Follow the official vendor advisory for guidance and updates
  • Review OIDC and Google identity provider configurations
  • Audit the usage of JWT Authorization Grant flows
Note on uncertainty

The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.

Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

CVE-2026-117627 zafiyeti Red Hat Build of Keycloak ve Red Hat Single Sign-On 7 ürünlerini etkilemektedir.

Güvenlik açığı CVSS taban puanı 5.4 ile MEDIUM seviyesindedir.

JWT tabanlı hibe akışı sırasında kimlik sağlayıcı kısıtlamaları ve talep filtreleme kontrolleri atlanmaktadır.

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw was found in the JWT Authorization Grant implementation of the keycloak-services component. When an OIDC or Google identity provider is configured with specific login restrictions, such as claim filtering, these checks are correctly applied during standard browser logins but are skipped during the JWT-based grant flow. This allows an authenticated client to obtain access tokens for a user even if their identity provider claims should have blocked the login.

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
