Short explanation
CVE-2026-115486 in the iscsiuio component of open-iscsi involves missing option length validation within the IPv6 Neighbor Discovery handler, enabling ARP table poisoning and traffic redirection.
It allows an attacker on the same network segment to poison the ARP table and redirect network traffic, presenting integrity and availability risks.
What should be done?
- Following official vendor advisories
- Ensuring network segment security
- Consulting vendor updates for remediation status
Chain of evidence and sources
CVE-2026-115486 açığı open-iscsi yazılımının iscsiuio bileşenini etkilemektedir.
IPv6 Komşu Keşfi işleyicisindeki eksik doğrulama ARP tablosu zehirlenmesine izin verir.
Show the technical text from the sources
A flaw was found in the iscsiuio component of open-iscsi. The IPv6 Neighbor Discovery handler accesses link-layer address options at a fixed offset without verifying the packet contains them. Additionally, the ARP table is updated unconditionally with attacker-controlled addresses from the packet headers. An attacker on the same network segment can send a minimal Neighbor Advertisement to poison the ARP table and redirect network traffic.
