Short explanation

This vulnerability identified in the baserCMS website development framework allows BcCustomContent file fields to be configured to allow executable file extensions such as php, leading to arbitrary PHP file upload.

Why does it matter?

This flaw creates conditions for attackers to store and execute unauthorized scripts, leading to significant system compromise risks.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories to apply correct updates
  • Upgrade to versions 5.3.2 or 5.4.2 and later
  • Review permission groups and plugin configurations
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

baserCMS içinde PermissionGroupsService::build() eksik config/permission.php dosyaları için joker izin kuralı yazar.

BcCustomContent eklentisi hiçbir sürümünde config/permission.php dosyası içermez.

Yönetici kurulumundan sonra operators grubu web kök dizini altında rastgele PHP dosyası depolayıp çalıştırabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

baserCMS is a website development framework. Starting in version 5.0.0-beta1 and prior to versions 5.3.2 and 5.4.2, `PermissionGroupsService::build()` reads a plugin's `config/permission.php` to decide what each user group may reach. When that file is absent it writes a wildcard allow rule instead: `url` `/baser/<prefix>/<plugin>/*`, `method` `*`, `auth` true, for every non-admin group. BcCustomContent has no such file in any release. After an administrator installs it, the default `operators` group can store and execute arbitrary PHP under the document root. Versions 5.3.2 and 5.4.2 patch the issue.
