Short explanation

The che-machine-exec service in Eclipse Che concatenates user-controlled input from the /exec/init and /exec/config endpoints into shell commands without proper escaping. When authentication is disabled, a network-reachable attacker can achieve remote code execution.

Why does it matter?

Carrying a critical CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote code execution over the network against targeted containers, presenting severe risks to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor advisories and updates
  • Enable authentication for the che-machine-exec service
  • Review and restrict network access controls
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims

Eclipse Che içindeki che-machine-exec servisi, doğrulanmamış girdileri sh -c çağrısına ekleyerek komut enjeksiyonuna zemin hazırlar.

Kimlik doğrulamanın devre dışı olduğu varsayılan yapılandırmada ağ üzerinden uzaktan kod çalıştırma mümkündür.

CVE-2026-114278 zafiyeti 9.8 taban CVSS puanına sahiptir ve kritik önem taşımaktadır.

Show the technical text from the sources

The che-machine-exec service constructs a shell command by concatenating user-controlled input (the username and namespace fields from the /exec/init and /exec/config JSON endpoints) into a double-quoted sh -c "echo "..." > ..." invocation without any escaping. When che-machine-exec is run with authentication disabled (its default), any network-reachable attacker can achieve remote code execution in containers che-machine-exec is configured to access, via shell command substitution ($(...) or backticks).

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.

Public exploit and active exploitation status

Verified exploit intelligence

No verified public PoC, exploit repository or Metasploit module has been found for this CVE yet.
