Short explanation

A vulnerability in ApostropheCMS allows an authenticated editor to modify page sibling rankings under a restricted parent without proper create authorization. This affects versions prior to 4.33.0.

Why does it matter?

This security flaw violates access control policies by allowing authorized users to alter the order of child pages under a restricted parent without possessing the required create permissions.

What should be done?

  • Update ApostropheCMS to version 4.33.0 or later
  • Follow the vendor security advisories

Kimliği doğrulanmış bir editör, kısıtlı bir üst öğe altındaki sayfaların sıralamasını create yetkisi olmadan değiştirebilir.

Bu zafiyet sürüm 4.33.0 öncesi ApostropheCMS sürümlerini etkilemektedir.

Show the technical text from the sources

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 4.33.0, an authenticated editor with legitimate edit rights on a pre-existing ordinary page nested under a restricted parent can use the same-parent page move operation to change sibling ranks without create authorization on that parent. The non-default nesting must already exist, and the bypass is limited to sibling ordering rather than arbitrary content modification, confidentiality loss, or creation of the restricted nesting. This issue is fixed in version 4.33.0.
