Short explanation

A security vulnerability in the Grav API plugin allows cache exhaustion and permission bypass through unauthenticated requests [S0].

Why does it matter?

This critical vulnerability poses a significant risk as it allows attackers to exhaust disk or memory resources or perform unauthorized page operations [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories to apply updates [S0].
  • Upgrade the Grav API plugin from vulnerable versions to secured versions [S0].

Grav API plugin (grav-plugin-api) 1.0.40 before 1.0.42 caches a full translation dictionary for every well-formed language code sent to the unauthenticated GET /api/v1/translations/{lang} endpoint, and 1.0.16 before 1.0.42 fails to check target and destination page rules in the sync and batch copy endpoints. Unauthenticated attackers can send small requests that each store about 560 KB to exhaust disk or APCu, while accounts with api.pages.write can overwrite translations or create pages that page-level rules deny.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
