Short explanation

CVE-2026-112394 in the Pillow Python imaging library allows P;2L and P;4L raw decoders to read 1 to 3 bytes past the end of an input buffer. This can disclose adjacent heap bytes or crash the process [S0].

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability enables attackers to trigger memory disclosure or cause service disruptions via process crashes, making it an important security concern [S0].

What should be done?

  • Upgrade to version 13.0.0 or later [S0].
  • Follow vendor advisories and updates [S0].
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Pillow'un P;2L ve P;4L ham kod çözücüleri arabellek sınırları dışından 1 ila 3 bayt okuyabilir [S0].

Bu güvenlik açığı versiyon 13.0.0 ile giderilmiştir [S0].

Show the technical text from the sources

Pillow is a Python imaging library. Prior to 13.0.0, Pillow's P;2L and P;4L raw decoders can read past the end of an input buffer. ImagingRawDecode calculates a packed-pixel row size, while the unpackers read separately padded bit planes. A caller can supply a buffer and image dimensions whose accepted size is smaller than the unpacker's actual footprint. This can disclose up to three adjacent heap bytes in output pixels or crash the process. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
