Stack Exhaustion Vulnerability in MongoDB PHP Driver

Short explanation

An uncontrolled recursion weakness in the BSON decoding logic of the MongoDB PHP driver may allow an unauthenticated party supplying crafted binary document data to exhaust the process stack [S0]. This can cause the PHP process using the driver to terminate unexpectedly, resulting in a loss of availability [S0].

Why does it matter?

This unauthenticated vulnerability allows attackers to target application availability by crashing target processes directly [S0]. Because the condition occurs below the PHP layer, it cannot be intercepted by application-level error handling [S0].

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory [S0]
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

MongoDB PHP sürücüsünün BSON kod çözme mantığında kontrolsüz yineleme zafiyeti bulunmaktadır [S0].

Durum PHP katmanının altında gerçekleştiği için uygulama düzeyinde yakalanamaz [S0].

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
