Short explanation

A flaw in the DownloadQueue.__write_feed_metadata_sync function of MeTube 2026.09.28 allows remote server‑side request forgery (SSRF). The vulnerability is complex and hard to exploit, though a public exploit exists. Patch status is not verified in official sources; the vendor recommends upgrading to version 2026.09.29.

Why does it matter?

SSRF enables an attacker to reach internal network resources and potentially exfiltrate data.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade MeTube to version 2026.09.29 as per vendor guidance (S0,S1)
  • Since patch status is unverified, follow the vendor advisory (S0)
  • Apply network segmentation and outbound request filtering to mitigate SSRF
Note on uncertainty

The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
